Fans believed the village mysteries had been neatly wrapped up with the last season, but quiet BBC confirmation suggests the story was never truly over. With Mark Williams slipping back into the cassock of the crime-solving priest, familiar lanes and uneasy secrets are opening once again — and the return is arriving far sooner than anyone expected

Father Brown may have concluded its latest season, but fans are revisiting previous episodes on BBC iPlayer. The 12th season recently wrapped up, but the thirteenth season is already in the pipeline, with filming set to commence later this year.

The gentle crime drama has seen a revolving door of cast members over the years, including Nancy Carroll who played Kembleford’s aristocratic socialite Lady Felicia Montague. The Cambridge-born actress was a regular on Father Brown from its inception in 2013 until the fourth season, after which she took a step back.

Did Lady Felicia Montague leave Father Brown?

No, she didn’t exit the show, but her role was reduced from the fifth season onwards. This was due to her character’s husband Monty (played by Alexander Hanson) becoming the Governor of Northern Rhodesia, which meant he would spend less time in Kembleford.

Despite taking a step back, Lady Felicia remains an integral part of Father Brown and even made appearances in a few episodes of the 12th season. From the fifth season onwards, the character has always been involved in at least one case per season, often stumbling upon a murder victim, reports Gloucestershire Live.
